Hiking

This hike takes you around the Kraichgau community of Sulzfeld - through meadows, fields, forests and vineyards. The landscape repeatedly offers wonderful views of Ravensburg Castle. The 16-kilometer circular tour starts at the train station in Sulzfeld.

You hike the first few kilometers slightly uphill through the vineyards and along flowering orchards. Once you've completed the climb, you'll find yourself at a special vantage point that really sets the scene for Ravensburg Castle and the surrounding landscape.

The rest of the way offers you great views again and again. After ten kilometers, the path leads you slowly and leisurely downhill. The next highlight greets you from afar: Ravensburg Castle. Take a long break in the beautifully landscaped castle gardens and don't miss the fantastic panoramic view from the tower.

It's not far from the castle until you arrive back in Sulzfeld. There you'll find several places to stop for a break to round off a long day of hiking.

With strategic foresight, the Türkenlouis recognized that the Palatinate War of Succession would not be decided on the Upper Rhine, but in the Netherlands. He had the region on the Upper Rhine secured by the Eppingen Line. Watchtowers served to observe enemy troops in places with a wide view. After the Second World War, Konrad Adenauer and Charles de Gaulle showed great political vision with the Franco-German friendship treaty as the basis for the reconciliation process of the "archenemies". The hiker enjoys the wide view of the landscape. Two large stainless steel mirrors in a baroque frame allow you to play with changing perspectives at the Altenberg vantage point.

Move done, no desire to unpack boxes, so hiking is the only option left. *laughs*. Well, I randomly picked a train station and chose a hike to go with it. That's how I ended up in Sulzfeld (Baden). I opted for the SU1 trail, which goes to and from the station. It was a foggy start to the hike, which …

It's also very relaxing when you don't have to worry about the route yourself. We had some good conversations. Yes, that's necessary sometimes.

Today's partly rainy Sunday was all about Ravensburg. She kept coming into view. But also the Steinsberg with its castle and the Schlossberg tower of Sternenfels were worth seeing.
Unfortunately, you cannot climb the Ravensburg tower at the moment - it has probably become a bit dilapidated. Otherwise, it seems that hiking guests are no longer liked here, because the …

Today I hiked a tour around the Ravensburg near Sulzfeld, which I offer on Saturday after Easter as a guided hike in the program of the Swabian Alb Association.
The first trees are in bloom and in two weeks time the blossoms and the fresh green will certainly increase.
If anyone is interested in hiking, here is information on how …

After the preliminary hike 14 days ago, today we went on the "right" tour with a total of 8 people. The weather held out this time - at first it was really spring-like warm.
We were also able to capture a rare mayworm (beetle species) in a picture today. It was a really nice lap today.
