This route was planned by komoot.
Last summer I decided to cycle the Ruhr-Lenne-Achter in one go. Yesterday, in sunny weather with light clouds, the time had come. I set off at around 9:00 a.m. in cool 4 °C at cycle path junction 34 in Menden towards Hemer. The Baarbach cycle path was closed at the Köbbingser Mühle. The diversion led via the streets Köbbingser Mühle, Heitkamp and Wulfringser Berg to Mühlenstraße in Kalthof. From here I continued on the Baarbach cycle path to Hennen. Since I had to cycle through the "middle section" twice, I also went through the diversion twice. Deviating from the originally planned route, I took the narrow path behind the Ohler Mühe from the Ohler Weg to the Ruhrtal cycle path. The altitude is incorrect because my Bosch Nyon loses its settings every now and then. Oh yes, at the end of the tour we had a "comfortable" 18 °C and sunshine.
Very nice tour. All paths are well navigable. Despite the nice weather, not much going on. A bit chilly this morning, but you'll have warm clothes to wear. I can definitely recommend the tour. Have a nice Sunday everyone
A SUPER gravel / bike tour 80% bike paths that are really far away from the road. Mostly paved. 😀 Actually, I didn't want to show the tour at Komoot, that's why I didn't have so many photos. Once again it was a slow father / son pleasure tour and a partial repetition of my last tour. But it was the perfect round. I took out the sections that I didn't like recently, made some improvements along the way and ... there it is, the new absolute favorite tour😀🚴 with nice restaurants on the way that are even open on Mondays 🍻 The highlights are actually the bike paths, the Haus Ruhr 🏰 and the Barendorf 🏠 but also the Felsenmeer ⛰ should be seen. It's overwhelming, the photos can't reproduce it that way.
From Menden, I followed the old railway line to Hemer, then climbed the Mühlenberg to Corunna, where I took the old Iserlohn railway line to the train station. Unfortunately, from here on, you have to use the regular roads through Grüne and Untergrüne down to the Lenne before you reach a cycle path again. There's also no cycle path from Oege to Hohenlimburg, and here, too, only regular roads. Shortly after Hohenlimburg, the cycle path is currently closed, so I had to take the busy Elseyer Straße, which wasn't fun. From here, however, I continued on good cycle paths along the Lenne floodplains to Hengsteysee, where I took a break. For the return journey, I took the Ruhr Valley Cycle Path via Schwerte, Langschede, and Halingen to where the Hönne flows into the Ruhr. Now a few more kilometers up the Hönne to Menden. Actually a nice loop, only the road section in Iserlohn and the detour behind Hohenlimburg are a bit annoying.
I've ridden it countless times, always good, but this time only two photos; it was about covering distance for city cycling.
Just drive and don't take any photos. For the first - somewhat longer - tour in 2023 it went quite well. Let's see what's going on this year.
From Menden down the Hönne and then the Ruhr Valley Cycle Path to Hengsteysee. From there up the Lenne to Letmathe and then to Iserlohn. From Iserlohn station, take the Alte Bahntrasse cycle path up to Corunna, then down to Hemer and then back on the Bahntrasse cycle path back to Menden.
From Menden I went down the Hönne to Äbtissinenkamp, from there I followed the Ruhr Valley Cycle Path via Halingen and Schwerte to Hengsteysee. After Dellwig I did a terrible stunt on an extremely slippery bridge, which shredded the air valve of my suspension fork, so the rest of the cycle was without suspension *what a b**ch*. At Hengsteysee I went up the Lenne through Hohenlimburg and Letmathe and over Düsingstrasse to Iserlohn South Station. Now I took the Alte Bahntrasse cycle path through Iserlohn to Corunna and over the Duloh to Hemer. I continued on the Bahntrassen cycle path to Menden.
