A really nice route to relax and enjoy nature. Wear good shoes in wet weather! Very well-maintained hiking trail 👌🏼
A tour that is definitely fun to run even in summer, as it is mostly located in the forest. Today the paths were partly very muddy after the last few days of rain, but otherwise quite easy to walk on. If you want to walk up the 202 steps of the ladder to heaven, you have to reverse the tour direction - we unintentionally had it downhill. The Ottilienberg chapel from the 15th century offers enough space to rest, even has a barbecue area and is worth a detour for more than just these reasons (the Ottilienberg tower is opened and managed once a month - usually on the 1st Sunday of the month). The Jägersee didn't have much to offer us today apart from a nice little bench to rest on, but there is a bird and animal trail around the lake if you want to take a look and there is a shelter there as well as an open barbecue area... All in all, a tour that we can recommend 👍 https://www.heilbronnerland.de/poi/ottilienberg https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ottilienberg_(Eppingen) https://jaegersee.de/
A short walk to Ottilienberg via the 202 steps of the ladder to heaven. Stop at the DAV hut near the Ottilienberg chapel. There was delicious cake and hot coffee ☕️ and good entertainment. We continued over the Jägersee back to Eppingen. The paths were okay, only the wind outside the forest was pretty disgusting.
Round of Sunday afternoon from Eppingen. Parked at the Kraichgau Stadium and from there always following the "EP 2" markings via the Himmelsleiter to the Ottilienberg, where we were lucky and the chapel's observation tower was open. Then back down to the Jägersee, where we took a little rest on a sunny bench. Finally through a tranquil cultural landscape - including bypassing forest work twice - back to the stadium. Afterwards stop at the Wirtskeller Sankt Georg in the old town of Epping. Varied paths, mostly unpaved and with a beautiful path section. Can be done without any problems. 18°C and blue sky - what more could you ask for on an autumn day :)
Hike to Ottilienberg then briefly past the Jägersee it was again a great tour with the TV Eppingen vg Gerd
