From the Rödelseer Tor, along the grape variety educational trail, the Route up to the historical vineyard. Here the Iphöfer Bergwinzer:innen have the historical viticulture made tangible and a habitat for rare animals and created plant species. If you feel like it, climb the steps to the vineyard cottage up and enjoy a fantastic view. Now follow the route to the terroir f Iphofen, one of the magical places in the Franconian wine country. The focus here is on global viticulture. After a Turning right you reach the terroir f Rödelsee. As through binoculars opens here the Franconian cultural landscape in the seemingly endless horizon. The path then leads back to the Küchenmeisterhütte through the vineyards Iphofen.
Today we're following a circular hike organized by the Iphofen Tourist Information Center, first heading to the starting point at the beautiful Rödelseer Tor. With a delicious picnic in our backpacks 🍊🥒🧀🥖🥨🍇🍅🍾 and glorious weather ☀️, we set off, and I'm delighted to encounter a rabbit 🐰 as we enter the vineyards. Steadily uphill, we follow the wine trail to the historic vineyard (both old acquaintances of ours), then continue on to new destinations: Finally, we see the Iphofen terroir f from more than just afar. It's a great place to linger, gather information, and enjoy the magnificent panorama 🤩. The perfect spot for our picnic! Luckily, we've brought our own small bottles, because unfortunately, there isn't a vino machine up here (yet?)..🤔. The next interesting stop is the Rödelsee terroir f. A really fun idea to place such a tube in the landscape! ...and there's a lot around it too 😉 After completing the tour, we'll go and taste some really great wines at the Johann Ruck winery on Iphöfer Marktplatz...and, as always, we'll do some shopping, of course 😇 Another parking tip: You can park your car for free and without restrictions at the 🅿️ "Einersheimer Tor." Those traveling with a campervan can park their car there for up to three days.
ROUTE: From the Rödelseer Tor, along the grape variety nature trail, the route climbs up to the historical vineyard. Here, the Iphofer mountain winegrowers have made historical viticulture tangible and created a habitat for rare animal and plant species. If you feel like it, climb the steps to the vineyard cottage and enjoy a fantastic view. Now follow the route to the terroir f Iphofen, one of the magical places in the Franconian wine country. The focus here is on global wine growing. After a right turn you reach the terroir f Rödelsee. As if through binoculars, the Franconian cultural landscape opens up into the seemingly endless horizon. The path then leads via the Küchenmeisterhütte through the vineyards back to Iphofen. It's worth taking a detour to the Bockstaschen PS Art project at the Iphöfer city lake and of course an enjoyable end to the trip in the Iphöfer gastronomy, ideally with a glass of Franconian wine. Short hike in and around Iphofen. Carine had invited us on a wine hike organized by the organic winery Olinger (https://www.olingerwein.de/). What can you say: organization 👍, weather 👍, food 👍, organic wines 👍, people 👍. All in all, a success, if only it hadn't been for the pain from the heel spurs. Thank you Carine for the invitation!
