Hiking
Thundering waterfalls, steep rock faces and mystical spirits: this gorge hike near Mittenwald is an adventure for the whole family. From the car park at Klammstüberl, you’ll follow the Klammgeistweg along the Leutascher Ache. Goblins and spirits accompany your every step, brought to life on vibrant information boards. Exciting footbridges and steel steps enable you to hike along the rock with the ice-blue mountain river below.
A little test of courage awaits at the Panorama Bridge: do you dare cross to the other side of the gorge? Before the Panorama Bridge, the Koboldpfad (Goblin Trail) leads down to the Mittenwald Gorge kiosk, where you’ll find the entrance to the Wasserfallsteig (Waterfall Trail). From here you can make a worthwhile detour to the 23-metre (75 ft) waterfall, though there’s an entrance fee. After this, you’ll reach Mittenwald and its numerous restaurants and cafés. The return journey is either by foot or via the 431 bus.
Please note that the narrow gorge bridge is not suitable for prams or dogs. The Leutasch Spirit Gorge is open from 1 May to 31 October. For more information, visit: https://www.seefeld.com/en/spirit-gorge.html.

This hike partially goes over a footbridge so you can walk right through the gorge and there are information boards along the way to learn about the gorge. With the opportunity to visit the waterfall at the end of the gorge, have lunch …

Highly recommended for families, especially since there is no entrance fee. There is much to discover in the realm of ghosts and goblins. There was only coolness today on the waterfall trail on the German side, which is subject to a fee.
