Trail Reviews

Susanne aus dem Hönnetal
April 8, 2024, Traum-Runde Dornheim

An easier route, lots of meadows and fields. Borderline at 26°. Certainly not a tour for hot summer days.

The weather wasn't looking particularly good for us today, so we decided to go on another hike further afield...and in glorious sunshine, too. There are 15 DreamRunde trails in the Kitzingen district. This was my first, and I'm absolutely thrilled with it and can highly recommend it. However, since the trails are currently very muddy, you should definitely wear waterproof shoes. The start is at the Dornheim hiking car park. First, it's a short walk through meadows and forests, then the beautiful Wolfsee Nature Forest Trail begins. It was so beautiful here, and it was so quiet. When I came to a somewhat confusing signpost (there's the option to take a detour to Herrensee), I met two people with a tractor who showed me the right way and told me that a long hike from the Kitzingen district was taking place on the DreamRunde trail today. Oh my goodness! I continued through a beautiful valley and to a viewpoint overlooking Nenzenheim. Shortly after, I met an elderly couple who were part of the hiking group but were taking a shortened route. We had a lovely chat, and she recommended some beautiful highlights in the area. And to my relief, I also learned that the hiking group of almost 300 people wouldn't be crossing my remaining route. Phew, with that many people, I would definitely have panicked. Arriving in Dornheim, the bell was just ringing for noon, and to my shock, communion had just ended there, and the streets were packed with smartly dressed people. I liked the little village; I simply love these sweet, idyllic wine villages here. Now I took the direct route to the parking lot, where my car was parked all alone. I'll see if I can do another dream route, maybe one of the longer ones. I really like the area. Unfortunately, Komoot keeps mixing up the pictures, so my captions sometimes don't match. 🙄 Sorry about that...

Today we walked the Dornheim Dream Trail. It started in Dornheim at the church. It is a very beautiful path across meadows and through forests. Due to the time of year, a large part of the path is very wet and muddy. Hiking boots are recommended. But the path was not passable at Wolfsee because the forest work meant that the path was just mud and water. 😡 We walked this section (approx. 500 meters) through the forest. Overall, a very beautiful tour with lots of sunshine and pleasant temperatures. There are also many opportunities to take a break.

Who doesn't know the dream rounds in Kitzingen? - Yes, e.g. my friends who have nothing to do with hiking and so on. In order to show someone the fun of hiking, I like to fall back on the well-designed trails. You can't go wrong there (except for the Dettelbacher villages 😐) Degree in autumn with a bit of sun, the round in Dornheim is good 😊 There are already more than enough descriptions of the round. Respect to the newbie who ran 15 km in a row for the first time 🏆

The 15.3 kilometer long dream tour in the Iphofer district of Dornheim is a hiking tour to take a deep breath and enjoy. Natural forest, natural paths and forest paths invite you to discover and slow down. It starts at the hiking car park in Dornheim or alternatively at the car park near the fish farm. Whether pure enjoyment of nature on the platform at Wolfsee or climbing in a woodpecker hole, there is always something interesting to experience. Further along, scattered orchards line the path near Nenzenheim and invite you to relax in the meadows. The 15.3 kilometers of hiking offer varied forest images, fantastic views and interesting facts about the natural jungle and its inhabitants. Hikers can not only start in Dornheim, access is also possible from Nenzenheim. The well-marked hiking trail makes the TraumRunde an interesting and relaxed nature experience. I can only recommend the wonderful DreamRound DORNHEIM. In places it was a bit muddy and cut 🪵🪵 blocks had blocked the path, so we had to move out of the way here. Since I like this 🥾 so much, I keep coming up with it.

I was able to really enjoy the few hours of sunshine. The wind was strong and the paths were sometimes very "deep", but this hike absolutely deserved the title "Dream Round". I was enthusiastic about the far-reaching views of the Franconian wine country and the primeval forest adventure trail.

Thanks to Pat, who is just as unflappable as I am, we completed another dream hike (this time the Dornheim Dream Hike). Thanks to Söhni, who planned the tour, we had a truly wonderful day. After a night shift, with almost no sleep, I met up with Pat today for another hike. My body didn't quite want to get into power mode, which sent me into freezing mode for the first half hour 🥶 and my hands froze. Luckily, we immediately started climbing, which put my body temperature into running mode. The air was slightly misty, giving the forest a somewhat mystical feel. A sense of peace that gave us energy and strength, allowing us to become one with nature. From a huge forest lake with breathtaking views to playful hammocks, ancient trees, and beautiful rest areas, we were treated to everything today. We were sometimes petrified by so much nature and tranquility. My body relaxed, and fatigue was a foreign concept for the next few hours. We both couldn't understand why so many people who weren't physically impaired preferred to lounge on the couch rather than at least go outside a little. Pat and I savored every moment, absorbing it all as if it would never come again. The day was an unparalleled highlight for us; it gave us strength, inner peace, and a great sense of calm. Thanks to Söhni, who hiked this route and uploaded it to komoot, Pat and I had a dream day! 👏👏👏👏
