Start: Niedernhall town hall Destination: Niedernhall Stadthalle Length 17 kilometers Altitude: 500 meters of altitude Difficulty: medium Nickname: We are the Goldfinches Directions: Started today from my place of residence. It was a mix of I wanted to go hiking again and had to do something for my psyche. The start was at the Distelfinken Vogel. It then went through the small town center of Niedernhall. At the end of the city center we turn right into the street "Steige". Here it goes steeply uphill out of the city. We continue hiking along the valley slope of the Kochertal up to the Giebelheide, where more than half of the Niedernhällers now live. We still have a beautiful view of the valley. The next step is where the roads are open to cars, past Hermersberg towards Waldzimmern. Before my time, Waldzimmern was a clearing, now it is an industrial area that is growing rapidly. After 5.4 kilometers we turn left into the forest and hike up the second ascent to the trout stream. The creek swells practically in front of our feet, but the source cannot be seen. The creek quickly digs into the forest, this is how we see it from above. When we have covered 7½ kilometers it is time for the ascent to 400 meters which we reach just before Lipfersberg. I haven't visited Lipfersberg for years and it has gotten bigger. After Lipfersberg we have to follow a district road again, this time only 5 minutes and then we are in Ingelfingen. Here we reach the Kocher and the castle park at the bottom of the valley, which I have never visited in my 24 years. Next we went up to the second largest wine barrel in Europe and further with panoramas in the vineyards to the Criesbacher saddle a really nice view. At the upper edge of the vineyard we walk in the direction of Niedernhall on the outskirts. Now all we have to do is go down a steep walkway and we're off the bridge and at our destination. Conclusion: A lap on a lot of asphalt and roads open to traffic still did me good. Highlights: ⭐Niedernhall ⭐Ingelfingen ⭐Criesbach saddle
