The perfect gravel tour (if there isn't still a lot of snow on the paths like on our day 😬)! The start is in the city of Salzburg and after only a few kilometers you are already on the first gravel paths. At kilometer 14 we had to deviate from the actual route for a short distance due to forestry work. As a result, we had to cross a small river. We therefore recommend that you stay on the Strailachweg at kilometer 14 until you meet our GPX track again in Nonn. A long, sometimes steep ascent follows on good, wide forest roads. A dream route!! Because of the heavy snow, we chose the asphalt road for the descent. Alternatively, you can also drive down the forest roads/trails to Nägling. There are now many climbs, you always stay on gravel roads and drive through idyllic forest areas, past the Falkensee. And if you feel like it, you can also take the small detour to the Frillensee at kilometer 40! Unfortunately, we had to turn around because of the snowy road. 😭 Arrived at the Inzellerhöhe, it's all downhill from now on - the whole long way until you're back in the city of Salzburg! 🚲💨
A classic in Salzburg, crossing the border into Bavaria! There are a few good climbs, but we love a challenge ;-) It was extremely hot today, but there were plenty of cooling spots along the way. Eventually, you pass a few lakes, and at the end, the Saalach River beckons with its icy water 💦
