Hiking
Deep blue water in which the imposing peaks of the Kitzbühel Alps are reflected - a sight that has an almost hypnotic effect. You can even visit the picturesque Ehrenbachhöhensee twice on this tour and be enchanted by the picturesque sight. And by the way, you can experience a little happiness at the summit on the Pengelstein.
The starting point of this hike is the mountain station of the Fleckalmbahn, which you can easily reach after a ten-minute drive from Kirchberg. Whether you visit the nearby Ehrenbachhöhen Lake at the beginning of your tour, at the end or both is up to you. In this tour it is planned as the end of the day. We recommend packing a picnic blanket and a delicious picnic, but more on that later.
From the Ehrenbachhöhe, your path first leads you south and a good bit downhill and past the Gasthof Hochbrunn. Perfect for warming up, because after just under one and a half kilometers the ascent begins, which leads you in a few bends and over lush mountain meadows up to the Jufenkamm. You can take a short break on one of the benches at the Brunn reservoir and enjoy the view. You have now made the majority of the ascent.
Half a kilometer later you are standing on the summit of the Pengelstein, which offers you a fantastic all-round view of the Kitzbühel mountains. In the summit restaurant you can strengthen yourself before you hike back on the same path.
However, you now walk a little past the mountain station of the Fleckalmbahn and after a few minutes of walking you will reach the Ehrenbachhöhensee. On a picnic blanket you have brought with you or on one of the many benches, you can end the beautiful day of hiking with a cozy picnic, while you can hardly tear your eyes away from the view of the Kitzbüheler Horn and the Wilder Kaiser.
