Hiking
The trail begins with a leisurely gondola ride to the mountain station at 1,860 meters. From here, a wide, easy-to-walk gravel path leads you first over the summit of the Spieljoch, which offers breathtaking views of the Zillertal Valley.
From the Spielerjoch, the trail continues to the Geolsalm and Gartalm. This 400-year-old alpine hut still bears traces of the silver mining era. The trail continues through treeless terrain to the Gamssteinhaus (Loassattel 1,683 meters) and further towards the Maschentalalm and Lamarkalm, all the way to Hochfügen. You'll find refreshment stops at various points along the trail, including the Gartalm and inns in Hochfügen. The bus takes you back to Fügen.

Take the Fügen cable car up to the Spieljoch. Great views of the Rofan and Karwendel mountains. The panoramic trail winds through alpine roses and blueberry bushes over the Loassattel and ever deeper into the Hochfügen valley
Part 2 begins with the cable car ride to the Spieljoch. The great adventure for the fur noses who mastered it superbly. The Spieljochplateau is a children's play paradise. We quickly left because the view wasn't that good anyway. Now it went steadily up and down above the tree line to Hochfügen. On the way we came across the Gartlalm, which had a visit from the bear Bruno at the time. A little further on, another adventure awaited us. A herd of goats followed us. They came close behind us for more than 1 km. They probably thought that I was the shepherd with the two dogs. First, when I laboriously drove the herd back, they gave up. My fur noses were slightly irritated and overwhelmed, even though they are herding dogs. When we arrive at Hochfügen, a pure ski village with appropriate hotels awaits us
Today we took the cable car up to the Spieljoch 😊 From the summit cross we followed the ridge and the footprints in the snow to the Gartalm. On and on, until we arrived in Hochfügen 😃 Today was another great hike with lots of views and impressions 😇
Almost a classic in the Zillertal! 😃 . Fantastic mountain trail - from the Spieljoch Bahn mountain station via Gartalm to the Loasalm leisurely downhill (and a little uphill). Return from Hochfügen by bus. The schnitzel on the Loasalm are legendary, an absolute MUST!
A nice tour from Spieljoch to Hochfügen with a great view 🥾. You can take the cable car up directly from Fügen and then hike to Hochfügen ⛰. In Hochfügen there is a bus that goes from there back to Fügen 🚌.
This morning I took the Spieljochbahn from Fügen to the Spieljoch plateau. From there I hiked along the high trail to Hochfügen. I took a photo of the summit at Spieljoch and then enjoyed the great views on the high trail, unfortunately a little cloudy, but overall it was excellent hiking weather.
It was pretty hot again today, so it's best to plan a hike as high up as possible. We took the Spieljoch cable car up to 1,860 meters, from where we hiked a beautiful panoramic trail over Spieljoch (1,920 meters) and Onkeljoch (2,066 meters) to Hochfügen. The hike descends a good 770 meters in altitude, with constant ups and downs. Most of the 13 km is along the slope, with a few minor climbs, but it's easily doable. The views are simply magnificent in all directions! A truly worthwhile hike! The Gartalm is the only place to stop for refreshments along the route, beautifully situated in a basin. Of course, Lorenz the Mouse didn't want to miss it. There's also a statue of "problem" bear Bruno here 😉 Shortly before the end, we did get wet; thunderstorms had been forecast, but luckily we were able to shelter at the Lamarkalmen during the heavy storm. We then took the hiking bus from Hochfügen back to the Spieljoch valley station.
Today's stage began with the Spieljochbahn cable car. Reaching the top at 1,862 m, we first climbed steeply to the Spieljoch summit. Then we followed the signpost towards Geolsalm/Gartalm. The ascent leads over a wide ridge. A beautiful path then leads past blooming alpine rose bushes to the Gartlalm, where we took a long break. A bear statue here commemorates Bruno, the troubled bear who also stayed there in 2006. We then hiked through a mountain pine forest and continued over wooden walkways through a raised bog. We then continued on beautiful, narrow paths past magnificently blooming alpine roses. A farm track downhill brought us to the winter sports resort of Hochfügen, our overnight destination for the night.
