A spectacular natural spectacle awaits you at the end of the Rauris valley, Kolm Saigurn: the Rauris primeval forest. Its ancient fallen spruce and stone pine, numerous mosses and romantic clearings as well as 80 dark ponds make it a very special retreat for nature lovers. The educational path that leads through it was also awarded one of the 33 best in Austria in 2014.
Starting from the Lenzanger car park, you dive straight into the magical forest area. A rooted path leads you steadily uphill until sooner or later you stand in the middle of the jungle. Surrounded by the ancient giant trees and dark ponds, you can find out about the history, flora and fauna of this forest on the information boards and in the hut. So you comfortably turn your round until at some point the same way leads you back.
You can not only reach the Lenzanger car park with your own car, but between June and October you can also use Postbus number 640. On request, it will even take you a little further towards the head of the valley. This means that you can also start this tour at the Ammererhof to get to the car park via Almweg number 31 after the educational trail.
