the second "effort" of this minitour was the ascent to the Mollard pass, a secondary pass in front of the Aiguilles d'Arves and an "alternative" route to reach the Croix de fer pass. The ascent, extremely regular, takes place entirely in a beautiful wood above the village of Villagondran... 43 hairpin bends, almost a French Stelvio... but with less demanding slopes. From the col, for the descent I preferred to return towards Albiez Montrotond to avoid some tunnels on the other road which descended from Belleville instead. Superb views of the Aiguilles d'Arves group!
