Start of this beautiful round is the parking lot below the Graf-Stolberg-Hütte. Then it goes on beautiful and well signposted paths through a varied landscape. There is currently a shortcoming (November 2022). Between km 3.1 and 4.2 (approximately) the trails are heavily used by timber harvesters. In the photo at km 3.29 you can still see a relatively good section. At the Kalied vantage point, I switched to the small path and then came to more difficult paths, which were difficult to see under the many leaves and were quite steep in places. Here I will try the path through the forest next time.
The Rothaarsteig trail "BlickinsLand Kahle Pön" inspires with fantastic panoramic views around the Kahler Pön. The starting point is the hiking car park "Auf dem Knoll". From here it goes past the Graf Stollberg Hütte over narrow paths and through sparse forest. A magnificent view opens up at the summit cross. Unnoticed you cross the border of NRW / Hesse. Due to the nature of the ground, up, down, snow, mud, green hiking trails, we were on the road for 3 hours;)
A great round around the heath area when bald Pohn in Usseln, always great corners where you can rest and enjoy the distant view.
Although this Rothaarsteig track is very short, it has an incredible amount to offer: fantastic views of the Sauerland, heathland with heather blossom (in August/September) and a place to stop for refreshments. I really enjoyed this tour. At almost 7km, it is more of a walk, but one that is worthwhile. My daughter wanted to go hiking today. Of course I was on board immediately when she suggested this short but wonderful hike. I packed my provisions, put on my shoes and off we went.
