The Sorper panorama path mostly runs over the heights, especially at the beginning you can enjoy the great view. However, whether the path has to lead over the golf course ... I don't know. The path through the quarry and the view from the knoll are great. Later you will pass the white cross and then touch Niedersorpe again (starting point). You could also just end the tour here. In the further course it went past the blacksmith and back again. But whether this long loop is absolutely necessary …. I don't think so. Well, based on the pictures, everyone can decide whether they still want to run it or not. As with all Rothaarsteig trails before, the hike was very varied and interesting. I've never seen so many benches on a hike.
After hiking the Sorper Golddorf Tour in March, I went there again today and hiked the Rothaarsteig trail. Partly the same route, but also many new, beautiful paths, for example, through the former quarry at Knollen and past the golf course. Unfortunately, I'm still having GPS problems, and my data is only partially accurate.
The route lives up to its name. There are countless places where you can enjoy excellent views. The path through the quarry is not easy. It is also categorized as an alpine mountain path. That was just great. If you have a problem with that, you can also bypass the quarry (extra sign). The hike was suitable for today. Since the route mostly leads over open terrain, we were glad that it was very cloudy and not so hot today.
The Sorper Panorama Path is one of the Rothaarsteig trails. For us it is one of the top ten low mountain range tours hiked so far. In different ways it shows itself to be diverse. There are different types of path, with hardly any asphalt and a relatively large proportion of beautiful paths. In many places there are wonderful panoramic views, often with benches in the right places. On the other hand, there are well-coordinated, shady forest passages on appropriate paths or paths, which you can certainly appreciate in summer. The fact that the path also leads through the sculpture park of the Waldemei art smithy is a special treat. I would also like to point out the possibility of refilling your drinking water supplies at the elevated tank of the community of Niedersorpe with fresh cool water free of charge. Summasummsumm, a great tour that is unreservedly recommended. Wish the imitators as much fun as we had !!
Nice tour👍...really good signage. The tour goes through the art gallery/garden, here the gates/barriers will be closed at 5 p.m.😒 For safety reasons!
