As the name suggests, the Augustinerwald circuit leads through the Augustinerwald. It doesn't score so much with scenic highlights, but makes sense as a quick after-work tour and offers a lot of peace and quiet and idyllic forest. If you want to extend the round, there is still the ascent to the Sophienalpe.
You start at the Hütteldorf train station and then drive the first part on the Wiental cycle path. At the Weidlingau train station you drive through the underpass and then you go into the forest. The ascent to the Rehgrabenberg is then neat and quickly brings you to operating temperature. From the highest point you tend to drive downhill on earthy forest roads until you reach a larger crossroads at kilometer 13 and turn right.
Shortly afterwards, a small trail branches off to the right - you follow this and then reach a forest road that invites you to pace for a few kilometers. At the end of the forest road, a short, steep section of the trail awaits you. After a short stretch on the road, you follow the mountain bike route that branches off to the left. The varied path through a forest has a few technical points to offer. The return to the starting point is then relaxed on the Wiental cycle path.

I took advantage of today's hot day for a short, but at times challenging, ride through the Augustinerwald forest. The best sections (both ascents and descents) were in the shady forest, where the temperature was pleasant. I'm very happy with the ride.
