This wonderful tour through the Vulkaneifel takes you to the plateaus near Pantenburg and Laufeld. The way back leads through the picturesque valley of the Lieser with many fantastic viewpoints. And the hike begins with a highlight: On the way out of Manderscheid you have a magnificent view of the Upper and Lower Castle.
You dive into the forest and descend into the valley. Pass the castle pond, cross the Lieser and then climb the plateau. Here you first stay on the edge of the slope in the forest and then hike through Pantenburg and over open fields. You cross a wooded depression and find your way over narrow roads past Laufeld back into the forest.
There you will be welcomed by the idyllic Fahlbach, which takes you along its cozy bank down to the Lieser. On beautiful paths you wind your way back through the valley to Manderscheid. On the way you will come across wooden huts again and again, which invite you to take relaxing breaks with a wonderful view and thus form the perfect end to your hike.
