Who was Marianne? Marianne von der Leyen https://g.co/kgs/tRpkVty A short tour, ideal for getting some exercise and fresh air even in the current cloudy weather, and there is always something to discover in Blieskastel.
On today's hike, I found the huge Gollenstein particularly noteworthy. The 7m high menhir has been standing there for about 4000 years and is the largest in Central Europe. The term menhir is actually wrong, because the stone was built about 1000 years before the Celtic period. At the beginning of the Second World War, bunker systems were built in the immediate vicinity of the menhir during the construction of the Westwall. The stone was knocked over and broke into four parts, so that it would not give the French Allies any indication of positions. After the war, it was rebuilt in 1951. What all exists. Otherwise a nice hike with many flowering trees and some insects. The bee identification was difficult due to the unsharp pictures. It could be a leafcutter bee, but also a common Bindensandbiene. I couldn't see the underside properly.
This time on the other side of Saarland. In black and white 👨🏻🎨
🍁 Was a nice autumn round. Unfortunately, benches for breaks were very clear, but otherwise the path was varied. Forest and open fields alternate. At the end it goes through Alschbach. 🍂
