Jacobi Trail

Highlight • Cycleway

Very nice and, above all, quick way to Centro-Oberhausen or further to the city center. Few intersections with roads and easy to navigate. I use the route very often.

Totem Poles on Halde Haniel

Highlight • Monument

On top of the Haldenkuppe, an open amphitheater in the Greek style was created from mountain material. It offers space for 800 visitors and was opened in 1999. Great view of the area.

Rotbach valley

Highlight • Trail

Lots of gravel, but still good to ride on. Especially in summer, the surrounding forest provides welcome cooling.

https://www.ruhr-tourismus.de/de/radrevierruhr/tagestouren-und-rundkurse/kirchheller-heide-und-rotbachroute.html (please consider my individual starting point) Own rating: 3 / 7⭐ Start / finish: Halde Haniel car park (Birkhahnstraße 29, 46145 Oberhausen) (free of charge) Tour highlights: Panorama of the Halde Haniel, Rotbach-Weg, (Rhine), Emscher Weg, HOAG-Trasse, Zeche Sterkrade, (Olga Park), (Jacobi-Trasse) Briefly summarized: - due to the time, it was deserted today - I was the only one to watch the sunrise today and later I only met a few people 😅 - Path condition: mostly asphalted paths, also roads, forest floor and occasionally there was a longer section of gravel/gravel - Pustekuchen mit Rhein: from km 24.2 there was a closure and I had to take the detour up to km 26.4 😑 - I shortened the tour from Sterkrade and left out the Olga Park and the Jacobi route - Possible detours: NSG Hiesfelder Wald, NSG Kirchheller Heide and Rheinaue Walsum I'm just about giving this tour 3 stars - I don't know who thought it up! 🤷🏼‍♀️ The goal of the tour was the Rhine, so to speak - and that's bad if you're not allowed to drive there at all due to construction sites ⛔️ Apart from that, the way through the city is really borderline, because there are definitely nicer ways! Only the Halde Haniel, the Rotbach-Weg and the Emscher-Weg could convince me - that was fun and made my Gravel-🧡 jump! I really wanted to take the sunrise with me today like on my first tour https://www.komoot.de/tour/535844138, but I wouldn't want to do this tour anymore and would rather modify the tour 😜 (combi with Kirchheller Heide)
