Rundwanderweg LT 20: Herbsthäuser Bierwanderweg – Tagestouren Liebliches Taubertal

Starting point: Herbsthausen brewery restaurant From the Herbsthäuser brewery, the "Der Sportive" cycle path first heads south for a short distance, then west through open fields to Rot (beautiful rural village scenery, half-timbered houses, chapel on the edge of the village). Above Rot there is a small lake with a rest area. After the village, the hiking trail leads along the Wachbach through meadows to the reservoir and then through a small forest to Dörtel. Here you come to the source of the Herbsthäuser brewing water, the Dörtler spring. In Dörtel you walk along the Wachbach to the end of the village. There is a nice rest area and a playground. The path then leads to the car park on Kaiserstrasse. After crossing Kaiserstrasse, the path leads into the forest, Gewann "Hofholz" to the Hubertushütte with a nice rest area and further through Hochwald, Gewann "Kammerforst" to the B290. After crossing the B290, you return to the Herbsthäuser brewery past the water tower.

Despite all the bad weather forecasts, we set off. Thank God. Because there was no sign of rain. A beautiful path that leads through idyllic little villages. We were surprised by the "Milchhäusle" in red. A young man who followed us said that there were drinks there. We wanted to sit on a bench in front of it and then went in. What a great place: a seating area, bookcase, case with tools for bicycle repairs and a drinks machine awaited us. What a relief! But if you want to buy a beer, you should have your ID with you. Another tour from the hiking brochure "Lovely Tauber Valley," the Herbsthausen Beer Hiking Trail. And let me just say right away: no, there are no beer stations or taps along the way. Instead, there's plenty of asphalt and paved forest highways here. Here, they even have names! Worth mentioning: - Herbsthausen - Rot with a church and small chapel - Dörtel with a lovely village atmosphere Refreshment stops: As far as I know, only in Herbsthausen. Rest stops (tables and benches): After approx. 1.5 / 3.0 / 7.0 and 8.0 km. Parking: It's best to stop at the water tower, which is located a little further out. There's a designated parking lot here.
