In Elpersheim, the signposted crossing over the Tauber is not possible. The alternate bridge is slightly upstream, but the route to it is not signposted LT18. It is best to follow the signs "Taubertalradweg" to the other side of the river.
A very beautiful, but also challenging hike. Don't be alarmed; it takes you across a nearly invisible, but well-marked, path through the forest. There are short, steep climbs uphill with gradients of up to 15%. Good hiking boots are recommended. You'll also be walking in open terrain. Headwear recommended.
