Hiking

You can enjoy this hike on many levels: In addition to nature and the views, you can also enjoy regional delicacies. Because you pass where they originate. The basic ingredients for schnapps, must and Gsälz - Swabian jam - grow on cherry and apple trees.

If you want to take a look into the past, you can combine the hike with a visit to the Beuren open-air museum, because that's where the tour begins. Past the museum grounds, you take a path to a gravel path. Here you continue to hike to the right and immediately have a beautiful view of the historic buildings. You hike between meadows and fields to the Blumentobel landfill. Here you can make a detour to the small Blumentobel lake. Past two shelters, you reach a forest, which you walk along with a view of Hohenneuffen Castle.

It goes downhill for a short time and you find yourself between fruit trees and a small vineyard. Almost back at the open-air museum, you go around the Engelberg to the left, which is one of the volcanic vents that erupted several million years ago in the Swabian Alb. This offers beautiful views of the Teck and Hohenneuffen castles, the Beurener Fels and the three Kaiserberg mountains.

Trail Reviews

Annette Partz
August 28, 2022, „hochge(h)nießen“ … chillige „Chemo“-Tour durch wunderschöne Streuobstwiesen

Due to given circumstances, we are slowly starting to take longer walks again. This small but fine tour took us today around the Beuren open-air museum on beautiful paths through well-designed meadow orchards - always with a view of the Hohenneuffen as the focal point. Really a great route, where you never get out of breath and which presents you with pure nature. Especially at the moment, at the end of August, the fruit trees are full of fruit, the wine is still maturing. A great path that is worth accompanying through all 4 seasons!

I've discovered a bit of an after-work hike for myself. I'm looking for routes between 5-10km. Today, it should be the HochGEHnießen trail. There are a total of 21 high-altitude trails. HochGEHnießen is an entertaining hike, but in my opinion, it's only recommended during the blossoming season. Then you can truly immerse yourself in the splendor of nature's colors. Without the blossoms, it's rather unspectacular. You walk along wide forest paths without shade, so not recommended in the midday sun. I think it's a shame that the tour didn't include the viewing platforms of Engelberg and Spitzberg. Especially from Spitzberg, you have a beautiful view of Hohenneuffen Castle and can watch the paragliders. It was lovely 🏵️🌼🪻

Today I took advantage of the time and the weather again for a short walk before exercising. And I simply did the "climbing up" tour of the HOCHGEHBERGE. With views of Hohenneuffen, Teck Castle, Beurener Fels, Jusi, and the three Kaiserberg mountains, as well as the idyllic paths through the orchards, it's perfect for switching off and enjoying nature and peace. It was lovely 🤩!

Hello everyone, Today I dared this round, inspired by @KISS , dear Tanja, thank you for that🙏🏻. I've walked there a few times but not yet the original tour - i.e. "climbing up" the high mountains. The blooming trees are a hit. And today's better weather felt good too. Unfortunately, it costs me a lot of strength and even this small round with little up and down exhausts me....corrosive.... it can always be worse...unfortunately that's the order of the day for me...and that's not only annoying but also frustrating and sad... I use the tour publication to tell you that I'm sorry that I don't look at your tours at the moment or rarely, little or not at all comment..I now have the same foot problems on my left arm and I'm both sleeping all the time Hands in..especially when writing...and since Friday also playing the guitar....which is really getting on my nerves. Despite being exhausted and hanging in the ropes, the blossoming trees were still something beautiful today...nature awakens every year anew and in all its glory...regardless of whether the sun was missing for days and it rained so much.... . And then there was Zoya.. who, of course, threw herself into the water like a lady again today😂 there was enough wet.... and I'm a bit happy too, because she's been missing out lately and finally Today she was allowed to dash across the meadows and just wallow in the streams and puddles again... maybe I should try that too☺️. I wish you all a nice evening, and say carefully, until next time. 🙋‍♀️🐾☘️☘️🌸

Before the thermal baths we took a short walk around the open-air museum.

Small but enjoyable. Suitable as an afternoon stroll.

Great hiking trail just over 6 km. Not so strenuous, also suitable for children. Can be combined with a visit to the open-air museum. In autumn you can find and eat berries and nuts along the way. To recommend.
