The name of the approximately twelve-kilometer tour speaks for itself: you can expect no less than breathtaking panoramic views of the steeply rising Swabian Jura escarpment (Albtrauf). A special treat is an almost endlessly long, narrow natural path that is particularly enchanting in the afternoon sun, which bathes the landscape…

After I didn't really like my last Lion Trail "Filstalgucker", today's panoramic tour was much nicer again. First up the mountain to have really beautiful views of Donzdorf, Gingen etc. If the view is completely clear, you can even see as far as the Stuttgart TV tower. Squirrels, slowworms and a few alpacas were spotted. Great tour. 🦁🥾
Today I was out and about with my son. Parking was a bit of a pain, so we parked at the shooting range. The view from Hohenstein and Kuhfelsen was pretty hazy, but I can imagine that it would be great when the sun was shining. There were a lot of people out and about. And I'm really glad that I have walking sticks - they're better on the slippery or icy trails. I didn't want to ride my bike right now, as it's icy in parts of the forest. I'm a bit of a coward.
My girlfriend and I actually wanted to go to the flea market in Wörnitz again. But since we had to get up early all week, and the next week doesn't look any better, we decided to sleep in and then go hiking. A Lion's Trail was immediately a given, but we were deciding which one this morning. The Weitblick tour won the race. A beautiful LP, I can recommend it to everyone. Although in spring or fall, the panoramic view from the Albtrauf is also guaranteed, as the trees have fewer leaves 😁
The idea for this tour came to me the week before when I saw the view from the Ödenturm over to the Tegelberg. I painstakingly created a tour to the Tegelberg and Hohenstein, only to find out that there was an almost identical tour in the Löwenpfade booklet in the district of Göppingen, but in aspects that were better. The only modification we made to the is that we only got off the Tegelberg at the very end. And I moved the starting point to a street that has designated parking spaces on one side along its entire length. The tour lives up to its name and you hike from one vantage point to the next. It's definitely a highlight! As always, we have added all benches to the "My Bankerl" app.
Löwenpfade Weitblick Tour with a short, crisp ascent and a wonderful view of the Filstal

Quality hiking trail from Längental up to the Alb plateau. At a height of around 700 meters, you will be rewarded for the climb: from Kuchalb, Maierhalde and Hohenstein, only your eyes will wander further. You can relax and enjoy your picnic. The narrow nature trail along the Albtrauf is also beautiful. Or to be honest: it was beautiful. Now the wind turbines of the test facility for wind energy research are making a lot of noise. Today, on the passage, you felt like you were on the runway of Stuttgart Airport. At least the pleasant breeze provided some cooling and hopefully plenty of electricity. Will the hiking trail be able to keep its rating?

I would rather call the tour a forest view tour. There are always great vantage points, but for the most part the tour leads on narrow paths through the forest.
Unfortunately, there is no barbecue area anywhere along the way
