Circular hiking trail from Brakel to Bellersen then to Bökendorf and back to Brakel, Keizerbrunnen car park. Diverse hiking trail with a view of the villages through different, changeable paths. It was ok 👌🌾🍁🌻
The Brakeler Berglandweg No. 4 begins at the Kaiserbrunnen on the edge of the spa park in Brakel. The fountain house with the spring bar is still closed, as is the small café. It is still early in the year!!! The snowdrops line the path in bunches - spring is coming. Mostly wide forest paths lie ahead of me and, as befits a "Catholic area", there are numerous shrines along the way and a Stations of the Cross starting at Bökerhof Castle. Before that, however, I pass the cemetery of honor - the crosses in rows are depressing...but the names of the fallen are in the name book - don't forget! In the forest I almost missed the snow chapel, it is a bit off to the side. 💠💠💠💠💠💠💠💠💠💠💠💠💠💠💠💠 https://www.komoot.de/tour/2071515407?ref=avs&share_token=awalz3I3BhfyWW8dcZS6xELllqO9pGtiVeU5aztKdLD68WIc1b Through fields and forests we head to Bökendorf and make a wide detour around the town for a few kilometers. I pass the open-air stage - still in hibernation, of course. After walking around, I go into town to find a bakery or something similar. Unfortunately, there is nothing like that here.... So I just looked for the Ludowinengarten - a rest area and playground. The name is borrowed from Ludowine von Haxthausen, a step-aunt of Annette von Droste-Hülshoff. Then further - Bökerhof Castle is in front of me It is not open to visitors in private hands. From 1810 to 1834, the castle was the center of the "Bökendorf Romantic Circle". In addition to the sons of the lord of the castle, von Haxthausen, the circle included Annette and Jenny von Droste-Hülshoff, the brothers Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm, Clemens Brentano and others. The literature museum in the castle, which has an exhibition of living conditions in the Biedermeier period and was founded in 1989, has been closed for some time. The gardens cannot be visited either. Only the hornbeam arcade, the poet's source of inspiration, can be walked through. 💠💠💠💠💠💠💠💠💠💠💠💠💠💠💠💠 https://www.komoot.de/tour/2071516670?ref=avs&share_token=aTMpjqeemvYzA9M4761GVb8FwsK3G0tsbFGV3WYdsYuTnYDE4B Afterwards, a long and wide avenue of linden crosses awaits the hiker. I probably won't find a place to stop in Bellersen, the next small town. Two older gentlemen who are pruning their apple trees give me information. I can save myself the detour into town. Now it's dragging on again - probably because I didn't have a break. The Berglandweg is now partially connected to the 6 km agricultural history circular hiking trail around Bellersen. It provides insights into the history of agriculture and forestry. My "detours" are not successful today: I make a small detour to the Hinnenburg, which stands on a mountain spur above Brakel. No way, I am not allowed onto the property due to a prohibition sign - private!!! Mr. Louis Graf von Asseburg-Falkenstein-Rothkirch (what a monstrosity of a name) does not want to be disturbed... But he is sure to be happy to spread the costs of renovating the castle "among the people" (see the Federal Republic's assumption of financing). Well then - I don't like it when strangers walk through my garden either - but unlike the noble gentleman, I don't receive any subsidies for the upkeep of my own home.
Undemanding but beautiful tour from the book "The 40 most beautiful tours in the Teuteburg Forest"
