This varied panorama tour takes you from Gengenbach up to the Moosgebirge, which separates the Rech Valley from the Kinzig Valley. According to legend, this vast forest area is home to the Moospfaff - a devious forest spirit who likes to mislead hikers.
The climb is long and demanding. On the last two kilometers before the summit, the gradient percent no longer drops below 10 percent. Once at the top, you can enjoy a fantastic view down into the Rhine valley as far as Strasbourg in Alsace. The long descent back into the valley begins at the Geißschleifsattel hut.
29 kilometers after the start you are back in the Kinzig valley and can easily shorten to the starting point, or you simply continue to follow the route and take the shorter, second loop up to the Gutta hut. Then a crisp ascent and a nice descent are waiting for you.
