Today we drove towards Kraichgau and walked a bit through the vineyards and watched the paragliders. It was a nice afternoon.
Today I took advantage of the beautiful weather and free time for a short hike. Since I was in the area, I chose trail BRA2. The paths were quite muddy in places, but otherwise everything was fine, and I was even completely alone in the woods at times – the peace and quiet was really lovely. So, for me, it was a perfect loop. A short description will follow. The middle trail of the Brackenheim Hiking Trail (Wander3Klang) leads into the Zweifelberg, the main growing area for Lemberger wine. This circular route offers a magnificent panorama with views of Neipperg Castle, the wine village of Haberschlacht, and Stockheim Castle. From the trailhead parking lot, the path initially leads gently along the edge of the forest and down through the vineyards to Haberschlacht. At the wine press square with its "Man in a Barrel" sculpture, the trail branches off and climbs behind the church on the Württemberg Wine Trail. After crossing the road, the trail continues uphill through the vineyards. Once you reach the top, the tour continues along the ridge, leading through orchards, fields, and mixed forest until it reaches the edge of the woods and the Zweifelberg vineyard, Brackenheim's finest. A break is well worth it: The viewing platform on the Zweifelberg offers a beautiful panorama of the surrounding castles and vineyards.
Yesterday we actually wanted to go for a hike. However, it was too rainy 🌧️. Today it wasn't much better, but I really wanted to go hiking. So we picked a tour and set off 😃. And we were lucky 🍀. When we arrived at the hiking car park, it stopped raining 😊. First through the vineyards to Haberschlacht and from there through the forest to Zweifelberg. From there back to the car park. A very beautiful area 👍🏼
After an internet search, I knew my mistake... Right at the beginning of the tour you have to climb the footpath at the edge of the forest. After that, the path is very well signposted. I also found my second mistake. I misinterpreted a sign. If I had walked correctly, I would have done the tour the other way around.... This BRA 2 is a very beautiful and varied path. Can recommend him. 😃
At the end of the 2 days in Zabergäu we went for a walk through the vineyards. And for lunch at the Neuer Berg restaurant. As soon as we got in the car it started raining. lucky.
Beautiful May 1 hike, beautiful views and distant views
Such a glorious autumn day with sunshine and a blue sky is perfect for enjoying nature outdoors. Since I'm currently visiting my son's family in Baden-Württemberg, I wanted to hike in the vineyards, as there aren't any in Marburg. My son recommended this beautiful tour, which I thoroughly enjoyed. I started from the hiking parking lot at the edge of the forest above Neipperg. I hiked the route in reverse, as suggested by Komoot. This had the advantage that I could first walk along the panoramic trail above the vineyards on Zweifelberg and enjoy the magnificent view of the still-colorful vineyards and the village of Haberschlacht nestled among them below. The view was indescribable, and I couldn't get enough of these fantastic colors! The landscape stretched like a vibrant, colorful carpet far to the horizon below me! And then there was the blue sky and the relatively warm sun! I lingered on this path for quite some time, letting my gaze wander again and again over this magnificent panorama. At the end of my hike, I returned here to enjoy this fantastic view once more. The trail marker then led me for quite a while through the colorful autumn forest, almost always at the same elevation around Haberschlacht. Finally, it descended to the small village of Haberschlacht. In the village, I passed a Trabant. In the village center, I particularly liked the sculpture "The Man in the Barrel," the "Milchhäusle" (milk house), the fountain, the bench next to it, and the imposing church. Sometime after leaving the village, I realized I could no longer find the "BRA2" trail marker. (I only recorded my route with Komoot while hiking and relied solely on the trail marker.) I then walked in a wide arc through the magnificent vineyards and finally decided to revisit the wonderful panoramic trail above the vineyards. I shortened the last stretch by simply climbing up in a line between the vines. Once I reached the top, I treated myself to a well-deserved break on the panoramic lounger with its magnificent view before heading back down to the trailhead parking lot. It was a truly wonderful day with many beautiful and lasting impressions that I will remember for a long time. Thank you so much for your great tip, dear @Michael (Wasi)!
