September 27, 2023, 3B-Land - Besigheim - Hessigheim - Felsengärten

This circular route is worthwhile at any time of the year. You can always collect new impressions. With fantastic weather like today, the tour was particularly fun.

Today, after a long break, I returned to the 3B region, with the 3B towns of Bönnigheim, Besigheim, and Bietigheim-Bissingen and the surrounding communities. These towns are nestled in a charming landscape, characterized by steep vineyards along the Enz and Neckar rivers, as well as rolling hills in the Stromberg region. The start and finish of this "snatched" tour was at Besigheim train station. The small town at the confluence of the Enz and Neckar rivers is known nationwide, primarily for its medieval old town with its numerous half-timbered houses. I crossed the Enz River up into the historic old town with its city walls. The city fortifications were built by the Margrave of Baden around 1220/30, but were almost completely destroyed as a result of the War of the Palatinate Succession in 1693. My route initially took me along the Enz Valley Cycle Path, past vineyards laden with fruity, sweet grapes. A blown-up bunker from the Neckar-Enz Line reminded me of the inglorious times of World War II. I continued hiking above the Neckar River via the hamlet of Husarenhof, following the wooded Neckarhaldenweg panoramic trail. At the Neckar loop near Mundelsheim/Hessigheim, however, the peace and quiet was over. While I'd been almost alone up until then, that changed at the latest at the Felsengartenkellerei winery, where crowds of visitors arrive by bus, car, motorcycle, and bicycle to fortify themselves with culinary delights. 🥂🍷☕️🍕🍾 Undeterred, I continued uphill to the Hessigheim Felsengärten, with a fantastic view of the steeply sloping vineyards where the first harvest is underway. The rocks also feature a 500-meter-long area with around 130 climbing routes. On the L1115, the route continued quite unspectacularly, following a flight path over the Neckar River, back to the old town of Besigheim, which was now full of day visitors. After a delicious ice cream at the train station, we returned to the Kraichgau region. GG

Start: Besigheim Bf Destination: Besigheim Bf Length: 17 kilometers Altitude: 270 meters in altitude Difficulty: medium Nickname: Picturesque Town and Countryside Directions: The next tour took me to Besigheim on the regional train, where I started the 3B country tours. 3B stands for three cities beginning with B, Bönnigheim Besigheim and Bietigheim-Bissingen. From the train station we headed towards Enzbrücke, after which we kept to the right. The Mühlstrasse takes us out of town on a bike path. We continue to walk along the Enz below the vineyards until we meet the railway line. After 2.2 kilometers we turn left and climb out of the Enztal on a vineyard path. Arriving at the top, we first have a view of Besigheim and then of Bietigheim. When we have reached the Husarenhof, we cross the streets and walk in the direction of the forest. In the forest we turn left at a hill sofa and immediately after that we turn right on a forest path. We accompany this forest path in the direction of Mundelsheim. When we have reached the seven kilometers we go on a path that takes us to the Salenkanzel. Here we look down on the town of Hessigheim. We follow the path a little longer until we come to the country road. We go down to the Neckar loop, which we shorten after we have enjoyed the view of Mundelsheim. After we have crossed the Neckar we are in Hessigheim, when we have crossed Hessigheim on the Besigheimer Straße we turn right at the outskirts to the Felsengarten winery. There we start the short ascent to the rock gardens. A steep staircase takes us to the top of the rocks. At the top we walk a path on the rocks. If you want you can sit on the edges and enjoy the great views. The rocks also invite you to climb. After leaving the path, we continue walking through the vineyards and across a meadow until we reach Besigheim and cross the Neckar. Before we go home we make ourselves comfortable in the historic old town and eat a delicious ice cream. Behind the town hall, there are stairs to the Enz and the train station. Conclusion: A beautiful beautiful tour with magnificent views and great paths with a beautiful old town at the end. Highlights: ⭐Prospects ⭐Salenkanzel ⭐Rock Gardens ⭐Besigheim

This morning (well, it was already noon), once again made a quick decision, after seeing the weather, what do I do, where do I run ... since I was dying to pay my mother a short New Year's visit, I have this one Rummaged out a tour that I have saved for over a year. Since I've lived in this area for a long time, the late start wasn't a problem either. And off we went ..... Start in Besigheim, a beautiful little town with a beautiful old town center, located right on two rivers, the Enz and the Neckar and who knows this area, one of the best wine-growing areas .... sunny rocky areas and water ..... the wines of this area are often awarded. My first part of the tour went along the Enz below the vineyards. The entire area is also popular with cyclists, well-developed bike paths and of course hiking trails. From the Enz it went up the vineyards towards Husarenhof. Another feature of this area .... on the heights there are endless fruit trees ..... there it went through, then through the forest in the direction of Neckarhalde to Hessigheim, that is to the Neckar. The Hessigheim rock gardens should be my goal. I've lived in this area for years, but never hiked the rock gardens. Back then we were mostly on our bikes. I can mention the Schreyerhof here ... you can stop there and have a great view of the vineyards and Neckar. My mother thinks the food is still good today ... let's leave it that way ... Today there were lots of "people with good intentions" on the road ..... Cyclists take advantage of the nice weather, people who jogging through the forest ... and then this group .... you can smell them from afar, but a smell that doesn't belong in the forest .... women who have felt tons of perfume and the best shoes got out of the closet ..... 🙈🙈well .... there had been a lot of rain here too .... Even when I saw the parking lot at the Hessigheim rock gardens from afar, I asked myself whether there was a folk festival there, there was still a smell of grilled food, children and people without end ... that's not my thing ... and although it was very steep to the rock gardens, my perfume walkers were there too ..... 🙈🙈 ... one of them then ran in front of me and sank very deeply on the sometimes very muddy paths with her high-heeled black boots, so that I felt sorry for her again ..... oh dear ..... the rock gardens, an experience and meeting point for many lovers, especially in summer .... I had the sunset on my neck today and still wanted to to my mother, so I have attached the Besigheim old town to you in abbreviated form ..... but I can tell you, it is beautiful, no matter what time of year ........ tomorrow there won't be anything from me, I'm going to donate blood, so I should be content with a little walk .... but the year is still long .... 🤣👍🚶‍♀️🥾💃 ..... everyone Readers, a great new year and lots of wonderful hiking moments and now have a nice evening Kathleen

Another meeting with Jasmin, and again we wanted to be active outside. But this time on foot. Meeting point this time: the outdoor pool in Besigheim. At the beginning the sun was shining so beautifully, and the warmth was just really good. We were so warm that we initially ran without jackets. Who would have thought that it would be possible to be out and about just in a T-shirt so shortly before Christmas? I definitely don't. Then it got cooler in the forest, and at some point we put our jackets on again. The quite cool temperature made itself felt at some point. Already after halfway through, I felt my legs, which were starting to get heavy. It was very muddy in places, but all in all the paths were easy to walk. We also had to cope with a few inclines, some of which would have been very nice with the bike. Although we wouldn't go all the way again, for example the stairs directly behind Besigheim. At the end we made a little detour to the old town of Besigheim and the unpacked shop there. This time we got the inspiration from the account "Kraichgau-Stromberg: Land of 1000 Hills" (https://www.komoot.de/user/kraichgaustromberg?ref=amk)
