Bibbulmun Track: The Darling Range

Highlight (Segment) • Trail

Bibbulmun Track is a 1,003-kilometre long-distance walking trail that stretches from Kalamunda in the Perth Hills to Albany on the south coast of Western Australia. It passes through jarrah, karri and tingle forests, coastal heath, and peaceful farmland, along a route deeply connected to Noongar culture. This section runs along the northern Darling Range through native bushland, with flowing creeks and rocky outcrops that open onto sweeping views across the Helena Valley.

Helena Campsite

Highlight • Camping

Helena Campsite sits on a hillside along the Bibbulmun Track with beautiful, sweeping views across the Helena Valley. Rebuilt in 2019 after the original shelter was destroyed in a bushfire, the campsite includes a modern fire-resistant shelter, tent sites, a rainwater tank, a large picnic area, and a toilet. Its picturesque setting and ample facilities make it one of the Bibbulmun Track’s most popular campsites in the Perth Hills, and a fantastic spot for a picnic lunch with a view, even if you are not staying overnight.
