Your tour takes you into the almost 900 hectare forest between Sternenfels and Diefenbach. You can expect the wonderful silence of nature and a special, mystical atmosphere in the forest.
The circular hiking trail begins in the center of Sternenfels and takes you quite steeply from there to the Schlossberg. On the Schlossberg you can expect an incomparable view of the surrounding forests and fields. The Schlossbergkiosk is also open in summer, where you can buy a sparkling lemonade or sweets. The Schlossberg tower will also open then.
When you have looked around the Schlossberg enough, it goes about five kilometers through the beautiful forest along the old sand farmer's path. Stromberg and especially Sternfeld was known for his stone carving. In 1700 stone carving really flourished and with it the grinding of residual stones to sweeping sand developed. Numerous sand mills were built. The sand was sold throughout Germany. The last sand mill closed in 1935.
Later you will come to a small forest lake where you can take a break. At the end you will reach the Sandberg. Here you leave the forest to run in the middle of a beautiful vineyard. You then hike back to the center of Sternenfels along the vineyards and get in the mood for a delicious Vesper with accompanying wine.
