Hiking

The Häfnerhaslacher Wald- und Seeweg combines tradition and modernity: On your hike you will experience viticulture, the typical handicraft of the region and great leisure time at the lake - on top of that you can expect a good dose of relaxation. The tour starts at the Häfnerhaslacher sports field at the Heiligenbergsee car park. From there the path leads into the extensive forest area of the Stromberg. Passing the Heiligenbergsee, the path bends north. There you pass the highest elevation of the round tour, the Schlierkopf.

At almost 450 meters, it is the second highest elevation on the Stromberg. The way up is steep, but worthwhile. Imposing views above the vineyards, however, make up for the most demanding part of the circular hiking trail.

Later you will hike through the historic pottery village Häfnerhaslach am Stromberg. Where pottery was once the livelihood of many residents, today the focus is on viticulture and forestry. You can experience these aspects vividly along the circular route. Later you come to the Heiligenbergsee, which is both a water reservoir for the surrounding vineyards and a hotspot for sports and fun. Your tour ends here - but the bathing fun can really start now.

King Wilhelm I of Württemberg (1816-1864) had seed of the mammoth tree imported to Württemberg shortly before his death. It was used up to 8,000 copies of which are still 35 copies in the mammoth grove in the Zoological Garden Wilhelma in Stuttgart today. More specimens from this seed were planted distributed throughout southwest Germany.

Small round from the sports field in Häfnerhaslach. Right at the start we circle the Heiligenbergsee. Then it goes uphill to the highest point on the Schlierkopf. The Rennweg leads to the sequoia tree plantation and the knight jump memorial stone. The way back goes over beautiful meadow paths down to the outskirts and then again briefly up to the sports field.
