Hiking

The Talschluss Höhenweg is a scenic alpine round above the end of the Saalbach Hinterglemm valley. It is suitable for beginners as well as for experienced hikers looking for a relaxed half-day in the mountains. Several managed alpine pastures, an educational nature trail, and the optionally accessible Baumzipfelweg at the end make the route an extensive introduction to the Glemmtal valley.

You start at the parking lot of the Talschlusszug train station in Lengau and follow the signs to the right of the forest road upwards. After an initial climb, you reach a viewpoint above the Forsthofalm with a wide view into the valley. From there, the path leads down to the alm and continues via Ossmannalm and Saalalm to Lindlingalm. Along the educational nature trail from the Saalalm, there are information boards about the animal and plant world of the valley end. At Lindlingalm, the detour to the Golden Gate and Baumzipfelweg is worthwhile.

Parking is available directly at the start.

Talschluss High Trail

Highlight • Trail

One of the most beautiful panoramic trails in Glemmtal. The high-altitude trail leads you high above the valley floor with views of Tristkogel, Staffkogel, and Gamshag. Those who start from the Lengau parking lot will earn the rooty, stony ascent with cozy alpine pastures on the way down. Saalalm and Ossmannalm invite you to stop for refreshments, while Lindlingalm with its suspension bridge and high ropes course provides the extra thrill.🏔️

The Baumzipfelweg and the associated Golden Gate Bridge of the Alps are the highlights at the end of the Saalbach-Hinterglemm valley and offer a unique experience at lofty heights. The suspension bridge leads impressively across the valley and opens up spectacular views, while the subsequent wooden walkway through the treetops offers exciting perspectives on the surrounding nature. An ideal excursion destination for families, nature enthusiasts, and anyone who wants to encounter the mountains "at eye level".

The alpine meadows dotted with wooden huts at the head of the Saalbach-Hinterglemm valley convey the typical image of the Kitzbühel Alps: gentle, green slopes, crisscrossed by small paths and adorned with traditional, rustic alpine huts. Among the grazing cows, blooming flowers, and old wooden fences, a peaceful atmosphere invites you to linger and immerse yourself in the authentic Alpine lifestyle.

June 4, 2025,🇦🇹 ⛰️ Auf dem Glemmtaler Talschluss-Höhenwanderweg über die Golden Gate Bridge 🌉 zum Baumzipfelweg 🧙🌲 - Tag 6A
As an unofficial treetop, treetop, and canopy trail tester 🦺🌲 (the older ones among you will remember 😉), it was time to get back to work and take a closer look at the Alpine version 🧐. With the "test location" located at the beautiful end of the Glemmtal valley near Saalbach-Hinterglemm, a suspension bridge 🌉 🤩 even included, and a …

Today a more relaxed hike through the valley head of the Saalachtal, with a great stop at the Ossmann-Alm and the Forsthofalm 🥨🍺🥾

This scenic and beautiful tour was all about "Shall we take another hut with us?" In the end, there were three 😉 Quite an achievement considering the kilometers〽️🔆🏔️

The hike starts at the parking lot in Lengau and runs slightly uphill in the valley to the Baumzipfelweg and the Golden Gate Bridge of the Alps. It is 200 meters long and 42 meters high. Walking on the bridge is a pleasure for all those who like things to move. On the other side begins the highest treetop path …

After the break in the rain, we set off on a hike that was at the top of our to-walk list ;)

In Lengau, we start straight uphill and soon come to a beautiful, rooty, stony path with magnificent views. How convenient that the weather is actually "bad" today, but still nice and warm. We even see wild horses again.

The weather meant well again today and the 🌞 seemed merciless. We set off and took the hiking bus to Lengau. From here it went steadily uphill to the Forsthofalm. Often thought on the way, why am I doing something like this to myself 😰. But when we got to the top, we were compensated. We were on a very …

Please visit all Helga at the Forsthofalm! She is doing a great job there! She manages the alp without electricity and cooks delicious dishes on a charcoal stove. She also processes some of the milk from the cows herself. Really recommendable 👍🏻😋
