The Pyrenean foothills

This loop offers a discovery of the Pyrenean foothills, between agricultural plains and the first undulations of the mountains, in the heart of the Pays de Nay. A gentle exploration with the silhouette of the Pyrenees as a backdrop to accompany you mile after mile.

From the start, the bridge in Nay offers a beautiful opening onto the river and the village, before climbing towards the hills of Saint-Vincent. From the commune and its orientation table, you benefit from a breathtaking view of the Pays de Nay.

The route then joins the banks of the Gave de Pau, as far as Lestelle-Bétharram, where the old bridge marks an emblematic crossing over the river. You will then cross a pastoral area near the village of Asson, which was once at the crossroads of transhumance routes between mountain and plain, on the border between Béarn and Bigorre, but also on the route of the foothills towards Compostela.

The last part ventures into the Ossau foothills, towards Lys, in the heart of a greener natural setting, before gradually returning to Nay. A route that offers a beautiful diversity of landscapes, carried by the gentleness of the foothills.
