A short trip by train from Ulm via Friedrichshafen to Überlingen. From there, we walked to Birnau Monastery (very worth seeing). A small kiosk invites you to linger. The coffee and cake were excellent. In Unteruhldingen, we then climbed the HW 9. This leads through the forest to Meersburg, with some magnificent views of the lake. Regards, BS
Finally Anke and I managed to go running together again🚶🏻♀️🚶🏼♀️😃🌞🚢👍🏻 We took the 🚂 to Überlingen and started there from the train station towards the lake. Right at the beginning we passed a cactus house 🌵, which we of course visited to marvel at great and huge cacti 🌵. Then we continued through the former garden show grounds to the waterfront, which we then followed for a long stretch towards Nussdorf. We walked to Strandbad Ost, where we made a quick stop for a ☕️ and then we continued to Nussdorf and to Untermaurach, where we then walked through the vineyard up to the Birnau Basilica. This pilgrimage church was built between 1746 and 1749 in the Baroque style and is beautifully designed. But we didn't visit it today. We already did that on another tour…. But it's really worth it 👍🏻 From the front yard you have a great view of the lake and the adjacent Alps and we had dinner 🥨🥨 with this great view 😃 Then we walked again through the vineyard down to the lake to Seefelden, where we briefly looked into the Church of Saint Martin... a very simple, but still beautiful church. Then we went past the mouth of the Aach in Seefeld to Unteruhldingen. The Seefeld Aach estuary is an approximately 55 hectare nature reserve that belongs to the Lake Constance basin and offers a habitat for many rare animal and plant species. The lake path is also the Lake Constance cycle path and is already being used a lot, even though the season is still at the very beginning 😅 In Unteruhldingen there are the famous pile dwellings, an archaeological open-air museum that houses around 1000 original finds from the Bronze and Stone Ages. You can visit the buildings and exhibitions daily from 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. for an entrance fee, but we continued on to the Uhldingen sports boat harbor, where you can see great sculptures on the promenade. After a short break we continued walking, although not along the lake, but rather we walked through the town to walk above the tourist area, through the forest to Meersburg. We passed a hill with lots of caves, all of which had private access and were locked. We were only able to look into one of them... Looked like a party room 🥳😅👍🏻 We then went wonderfully quietly through the forest to a small ravine, the Kleiner Ramsbach, which we crossed and then took our 🥂break😃 above before going down to Meersburg. There we enjoyed a delicious ☕️🍰 ice cream parlor in a small ice cream parlor, then we mingled with the tourists and strolled down to the ferry ⛴️ with which we took to Konstanz-Staad. From there we took the bus 🚌 to the train station and then took the 🚂 home 😃👍🏻 Today was a really chilled spring day, where we had a good time and went on a tourist trip 😅 that's nice every now and then 😜 Thank you Anke for your company and the lovely day 😘
Mandy and I finally managed to go hiking together again. We decided on a leisurely tour on tourist paths along the lake and walked from Überlingen via Birnau, Unteruhldingen to Meersburg. In summer there are too many tourists there and it's not nice anymore. So we were able to enjoy the walk and return home by ferry, bus and train. A nice trip on Good Friday.😎😎🚶🏼🚶🏻🐰🐰🌼🪻🌷
Started in fog, but then discovered the sun 🌊☀️🌊. The way from Meersburg to Überlingen is easy to walk and certainly recommendable in autumn as well as in winter or spring. In summer it could be too sunny and hot and too crowded. The views are idyllic and the forests are currently colored in bright colors. It was an all-round pleasure, also gastronomically - certainly recommendable everywhere here 👍🍁🍂🍁.
By bus from Überlingen to Meersburg and back on foot. Walked on the beach and enjoyed the lake
