The traces of events have deeply etched themselves into the landscape. On this challenging gravel bike tour with start and end point in Villach, around Faaker See and several times along the Drau river, we discover relics from World War II: abandoned bunkers and a memorial for the fallen resistance fighters against the Nazi regime. It is located below the Arichwand/Arihova peč between Ledenitzen and St. Jakob im Rosental/Šentjakob v Rožu, where an earth bunker with a small wooden superstructure served as a hiding place for partisans from the SS in 1944 and 1945.

Attention: The last few meters to this memorial site can only be reached on foot.
