The Kettle Valley Railway opened in 1915 and was 400 miles (650 km) long at its peak. For many decades, the railroad carried passengers, commodities, fruit, and lumber through the Kootenays, the Okanagan Valley, and the Coquihalla region. The last train left the station in the village of Penticton in 1989 - but the legacy of the railway lives on. …
