This route was planned by komoot.
Bynäset is a small peninsula and is located in the 500km² lake Storsjön, about 10-15 minutes by car from Östersund's city center. The peninsula is a former military area, "attached" to the island of Frösön (on which I have lived since 2009). In summer, the west side is ideal for swimming and sunbathing and AT ANY TIME the peninsula is suitable for circular hikes. Tip: Shortly before the hikers' car park is the Västbyviken bay, which can be accessed by car ... long sandy beach, gently sloping water, barbecue areas and sunbathing lawn ... a dream for families and the perfect starting point for SUP, kayaking etc.
