Leliyn (Edith Falls) in Nitmiluk National Park is located 290 km south of Darwin or 60 km north of Katherine on a paved road. We drive almost directly past it on our way to Nitmiluk National Park. There's a circular hike here, which we naturally tackled right away. The walk first leads to a plunge pool and then to the other two pools. The upper pools are great for swimming. A beautiful hike
For us, the Edith Falls are actually the most impressive falls in the region. Of course there are the JimJim Falls, but during the dry season they are often just a pitiful drop and difficult to get to. The walk isn't very long, but it shouldn't be underestimated at these temperatures. It also goes up over rocks and stones, where the heat is a little more pronounced. The creek cascades into 3 pools. The top one is very enchanting in terms of its setting, the bottom one is best for more extensive swimming.
