We spent Christmas in Tampa, FL. While Florida itself is quite flat and mountain biking doesn't seem to be very popular, our 1-day trip to the Alafia River State Park was amazing: There are plenty of green, blue, black, and double-black trails, as well as on-site bike rental. On our second tour we started on the blue trail North Creek, which leads to several other blue and black trails. North Creek is amazing: A lot of short elevated areas and downhills, bridges, berms, ridge lines and an overall beautiful scenery while you're driving between the different small lakes. This we followed up by another blue trail Buzzard Bay, which - compared to North Creek - is a lot less varied. The trail leads to along the lake or on the ridge line with some rooty sections, but nothing really remarkable. Before heading back to the trailhead, we took the green line Hidden Rivers with very wide curves, some wooden bridges and a shallow river crossing; in difficulty similar to Rock Garden, to which you'll find the link below.
