Trail Reviews

Tom R
July 16, 2022, Monument Peak Loop from E. Levin County Park

As a hiking destination, Monument Peak has the same great views as Mission Peak but less crowded. The Monument Peak hike is a bit more difficult. Start at the Sandy Hill Lake Parking Lot. The Ed Levin County Park charges a $6 entrance fee. The hike is almost entirely on exposed, west-facing hillsides. There is almost no shade - Use common sense since the temperature on the slopes will be much higher than in the valley. Most locals recommend to hike the loop counter-clockwise.
