First day on Quebec territory, first hike and first great discovery. On the eponymous trail, “discovery trail”, we set off to explore the Mont Bélair Natural Park. Just wonderful ! Over 10 short kilometers we will cross lush, colorful and very varied flora. Very different from what we know at home. Wildlife that we won't see much makes sounds that are totally unusual for us. A fun and disconcerting side at the same time. We will take duckboards (next to which our people can hide) which run alongside peat bogs and wetlands or span small streams. The place is absolutely adorable, quiet (disregarding the neighboring quarry). Temperatures are around 26-27 degrees, almost omnipresent sun just hidden from time to time by a few clouds. Fortunately, we will often be in the shade. Very very nice discovery!
