One of the most beautiful ways to reach the Mozart city of Salzburg from Eugendorf is via the Ischlerbahn route. The narrow-gauge railway line that connected the city of Salzburg with the town of Bad Ischl in the Salzkammergut became famous because His Majesty Emperor Franz Joseph I used it to get to his summer residence. From 1894, a railway ran along this route for over sixty years, passing green meadows, crystal-clear lakes and imposing mountains.
After the railway was dismantled, this picturesque route was fortunately opened up to cyclists and pedestrians, connecting the Mozart city of Salzburg with Eugendorf.
