The Staller Sattel is just around the corner from our hotel in Antholz. It takes a bit of patience to conquer the 1,000 meters of elevation gain. The narrow, single-lane road winds its way uphill, with traffic lights regulating the flow. In our case, nothing came from below, just a few overconfident bikers roaring down the mountain, and we were able to adjust. The descent behind the saddle is a dream; it feels like it's all downhill for 30 km all the way to the Isel Valley. There's a beautiful bike path in the Isel Valley all the way to beautiful Lienz. The Drava Cycle Path also deserves five stars.
Today a solo tour (Spatzi was on a women's excursion😉), let's see what is still in those troubled legs. And to be honest, it was very tough after the 'activities' of the last 1 1/2 weeks. I'm looking forward to the bad weather forecast and a day or two of rest😄. The tour itself was great. First on the Drauweg to Lienz and then on the Iselradweg (really great) to Huben. From there over the Defereggental the ascent to the Staller Sattel ... phew, my legs were turned up like a meat grinder🥵. Departure to the Antholz Valley only possible every full hour ... I had a 45-minute break and nothing against it. I treated myself to a Coke for 5 €. Then the descent down to Lake Anterselva ... unfortunately the motorcyclists driving ahead braked a lot ... so always try to start in pole position if possible😅. Then a very quick descent from Lake Anterselva towards Pustertal. Thought it would only go downhill anyway ... puff cake😒. Legs already muddy and then a few more inclines. In Innichen I met Spatzi by chance and then went to a nice cafe to enjoy the remaining sun and drinks and sack. An all-round successful day ... but now wellness😄 Speaking of which, the indicated Hm at Komoot do not fit, I think, are more like 1900
