A beautiful, natural tour through rugged valleys in the Westerwald. For my taste, a bit too much gravel and a bit less natural trail under your feet, but who would be so picky 😉
The first part of the path was really a disaster. Without my walking sticks I wouldn't have been able to see whether I was on the path or stepping into the void on the embankment. Everything was full of thorns. Then we went a bit through the forest and because of the storm and/or tree felling work there were no signs at all. Otherwise the path was OK. I wouldn't have to walk it a second time.
https://www.westerwald.info/d/waeller-tour-buchfinkenland-gackenbach/ Another loop through the Westerwald on the WällerTour - Buchfinkenland-Gackenbach. In perfect weather, we easily covered the 600 meters of elevation gain over 15 km. In some places, the ground had already heated up so much that we were sweating profusely on some climbs. It was a relief to then enjoy the views on the hills with a light, warm breeze. I downloaded the original route from the website, and the starting point could be better defined, as according to the tour, it begins in the middle of a road. We parked at the retirement home and discovered at the end that there is a proper hiking parking lot. So please check carefully before starting. We haven't been out much in this region yet and were able to tick off many new experiences on our list. We particularly enjoyed the smelting works, the small paths, the many places to stop for a break, and the views from the hills. A truly fantastic day, beautiful weather, and a fantastic route. We highly recommend it. Happy Easter and happy holidays to everyone 🙋🏻♂️ Westerwald Collection: https://www.komoot.com/de-de/collection/2148991/-o-du-schoener-westerwald
The starting point of this tour is in Gackenbach near the church. But I started in Horbach.
Today on our day off we went on another WÄLLERTOUR in the Westerwald, only 23km from home!! The tours are going well👍🏼, they are just less spectacular than Traumschleifen and the like. 🫣🤷🏻♂️!!
The start and finish is the hiking car park on the outskirts At ca. 28c. Was that partly sweaty A 6.3 he cut to hike 🥾 That Gelbbachtal is also nearby
Very nice tour. Martina has been with me in my life for 6 years now. 😍 I can't complain.👍 Keep it up ♥️
The Buchfinkenland Wäller tour follows consistently well-maintained paths, with magnificent scenery and consistently stunning views. It descends into the Seelbach valley, climbs the other side via a steep path, and then back along the rocky path to Gackenbach. I really enjoyed the route; based on some of the information about the tour, I had feared worse.
