Hiking
At 1,493 meters, the Feldberg is not only the highest mountain in the Black Forest and Baden-Württemberg, it is also the highest peak in Germany outside the Alps. This of course allows a spectacular view. Plus, it's a great feeling when you realize there's only the sky over you right now.
The summit of the Feldberg can be reached via several routes or even by cable car. If you are not only concerned about the summit, but a challenging hike through magnificent scenery, then this tour is just the ticket.
The tour starts and ends in Brandenberg. You can reach the starting point both by car and by bus 7300 from Titisee station. The trail meanders steadily upwards through extensive spruce forest. After about two hours, the forest clears and when you finally step out of the forest on the mountain meadows of the Feldberg, the St. Wilhelmer Hütte awaits you for a cozy rest.
Shortly after you reach the summit and wander from there to the Seebuck. When you are fed up with the phenomenal panorama, you begin the descent. You pass the Feldberghof and the Hebelhof before you walk back to the starting point on the wildly romantic Waterfall Trail along the Bach Meadow.

Brandenberg is located immediately to the north-east of Todtnau and from here we start our circular tour of the Feldberg. At the beginning it is a little steep, but we make good progress on wide forest paths and gradually approach the Feldberg from the southwest. We finally reach the high plateau of the Feldberg via the St. Wilhelmer Hut. You can tell that it is the holidays, because there are already a few people up here, while I only met two hikers in the last ten kilometers. We finally head downhill along the beautiful Hebelweg, which runs along a stream in the forest with many small bridges. A very beautiful section. The whole thing is crowned with the Fahler waterfall.
