With this circular itinerary, we'll introduce you to five charming Umbrian villages, testament to this region's ancient and vibrant past. Start this route from the Fabro station and gently climb the hills to the characteristically circular village of Montegabbione.

Continue along a quiet secondary road surrounded by a dense oak forest and pass the small medieval town of Castel di Fiori. After passing Parrano, you'll tackle the short climb that takes you to the top of the Monte Nibbio pass (536 m above sea level), where you can admire the views of the surrounding landscape.

After passing the center of Ficulle, continue along the plain through cultivated fields and picturesque red-earth hills until you return to the starting point, the town of Fabro.

Castel di Fiori

Highlight • Settlement

The village of Castel di Fiori is a small, well-preserved medieval Umbrian town. The statue of Saint Michael the Archangel dominating the central square is particularly distinctive. It was created in 1937 by sculptor Michele Perla, who was inspired by the one preserved in the sanctuary of Monte Sant'Angelo, in the province of Foggia.
