Varying landscape. At the end you can still visit the small old town of Steinau.
"Exhilaration" ... how fitting for this Spessart track 👍🏻! Right at the beginning you immerse yourself in wonderful nature and then as you continue, great panoramas, hiking trails, wooded areas and dirt roads alternate to create a great hiking feeling 🤗. Since I was unable to spend much time in the old town of Steinau during my bike tour the week before last due to lack of time, I integrated it into the hike today, which, however, did not really lead to a missing part of the track. This detour was really worth it 🏰⛪. The advertising of the ice cream parlor for vegan ice cream 🍧 naturally made me mutate into a consumer zombie again 🙈 and I shoveled in all four types + coffee ☕ at a low price (7 € in total) 🥄😂. I then resumed the tour, a little shivering, but I quickly warmed up again, which was due to the movement and the great track. Highly recommended 😍! What could not be missing, of course, was again the short run, this time shortly before the end of the tour, because I was dreaming with my eyes open again 🐑🌈🌟🤭. PS: And again, thanks komoot for messing up the pictures. I really don't know what to do to prevent this chaos anymore. All sorts of different approaches to uploading fail 😠.
The "Steinauer Hochgefühl" hike is an approximately 11.3 km circular trail in the Spessart region. The tour starts in Steinau an der Straße and is characterized by magnificent views over the Kinzig Valley to the Vogelsberg Mountains. The trail leads through varied forests, meadows, and fields. It is designated a premium hiking trail and is well signposted. We also made a worthwhile detour into the town. Steinau an der Straße is a Brothers Grimm town located on the historic Via Regia trade route. It is known for its medieval old town with half-timbered houses, the Renaissance castle, the Brothers Grimm House (Museum), the Teufelshöhle stalactite cave, and the Steinau Adventure Park. A fantastic tour that truly brings you "elation" 🤸🏼...
With magnificent views across the Kinzig Valley and as far as the Vogelsberg Mountains, this 11.3 km long Spessart trail entices hikers. spessart-tourismus.de/detail/id=61eebc4c7e8c480c6a968a2e
Have a nice 2nd Advent 🕯🕯 Today's tour was more of a mud fight than a hike 😄 Sometimes the paths were so covered with mud / water and leaves that you always had to be careful not to fall; once I had to lie down 🙈😅 I think in dry conditions it is definitely a nice round, which offers some nice views 😊 On the way I found real monster mushrooms, they were at least 40cm wide 🍄 (unfortunately you cannot see the size on the pictures) Tour description: This 11.3 km long Spessart trail attracts hikers with wonderfully wide views over the Kinzig valley to the Vogelsberg. A detour to Steinau's old town with a wealth of cultural experiences is worthwhile: the castle, a secondary residence of the Lords and Counts of Hanau, and the old town center under the sign of the Brothers Grimm invite you to immerse yourself in Steinau an der Straße's eventful past. The Spessart track runs through the Kinzig valley, the natural area of the northern sandstone Spessart, where the Grimm brothers spent their childhood and where the Grimm family once lived. Lined by fields, accompanied here and there by trees, the hiker lets himself fall into the lap of the Kinzig valley - one of those moments of happiness: alone in the open, free and yet secure. The view wanders towards Bellings, three nature reserves are close by. The Bellinger Berg of the nature reserve of the same name rises strikingly in its appearance - as a dense mixed deciduous forest area with species-rich flora, it is one of the most important excursion areas in southern Hesse. The vineyard is also close by; In the Middle Ages, wine was grown on the built-up ridge, and until the middle of the 20th century, arable farming was practiced, as evidenced by the remains of the fields parallel to the slope. To the south of the Bellinger Warte, in the middle of the forest, lie the Neudorfwiesen near Steinau - for the protection of species and biotopes of supraregional importance, dry and humid mountain meadows are protected there. The hike continues in a varied landscape: after the open field, you dive into the forest. But soon a clearing is announced. Once again briefly sniffed the forest air and then it goes on across meadows and fields until the path leads the hiker into the small village of Seidenroth. Leaving Seidenroth behind, the route leads in a western arc around the "Long Mountain" through dense forest area. Lined by meadows and fields, the last part of the Spessart track leads on a field path to Steinau - back to the starting point of the hike.
In summer or when it is dry, this tour is definitely a highlight. Good views, narrow hiking trails, along the stream, through woods and fields. In the rainy February, many paths were muddy and under water. Waterproof shoes and then with the Kärcher over them - then it's done 😉
Part 7 of my motivational task 😄 Today we went to Steinau - to the Steinau exhilaration. And why is this track called that? Because it always goes hooooch 😅 You will be rewarded with a beautiful view - depending on which direction (motorway) you look 🙈 I still like this round a lot, because it runs mostly over fields and through forest, is quiet and varied. 🦌🦋🐦🐀🐄🐎
We know how beautiful it is in the Hessian part of the Spessart at least since we walked the Spessartbogen. However, so that you can experience even more of the Spessart, there are the Spessartspuren and the Spessart tracks. This hike above Steinau an der Straße is one of the latter. - Pure enjoyment!
