We took advantage of the cloudless and very sunny afternoon of the second day of Christmas for this lovely walk. The paths were quite wet in places, but what can that do us!? And don't forget... the true message of Christmas: Jesus Christ came into our world as a child to atone for our sins as a grown man.
Since the weather report reported rain ☔ from 1 p.m., I only ran a short lap, what could be better than continuing to collect traces? 😄 So when the sky was overcast, it was mostly on meadow paths. In the forest section you have to look carefully for the signs, as the paths are not really recognizable as such 🙈 (especially with the foliage 🍁🍂) I had a déjàvu experience on the way - I already walked a large section at the MM in April 😁 Tour description: (counter clockwise) The Spessart trail "Merneser Jossatal" leads the hiker through one of the most beautiful Spessart valleys, where the river Jossa can still meander freely through the landscape Shortly before the Bannwald, the path climbs and the hiker is rewarded with great views of the Jossatal to the east and over to the wooded Spessarthöhe des Stacken (at 464 meters). After a section through the young oak forest, the trail briefly touches the Premium hiking trail "Spessartbogen". Small streams cut across the hiking route into the slope. On a panorama path you can soon see the municipality of Mernes. Half-timbered houses and the church form the center of the tranquil Spessart village. On a narrow path past the wayside shrine of the holy Joseph you come back to the starting point at the sports field in Mernes.
Great tour for a morning: fog banks at the beginning, then weasel and woodcock observed and with beaver castles. In addition, a wonderful view.
A great tour. The path leads along a stream at the beginning and you are accompanied by constant gurgling and splashing. The path was pretty wet and muddy at the beginning, the beaver has the water completely under control. Well, the beaver knows where it is nice. Luckily it was pretty frosty and the path was frozen in many places, otherwise we would have been swamped. In any case, it goes up to a panoramic path and from here we had a great view. A really great circular route with lots of nature
Part 11 of my motivational task 😄 A beautiful - if not the most beautiful - Spessartspur 🥰 so wonderful to walk, with a great view 🍀
Spessart track Merneser Jossatal 11.08.2023 🌞🍄🐕🦺 14th place, day tours DSW election 2020 The starting point for us was the camper place in Mernes, 63628 Bad Soden-Salmünster We walk the first 2km directly on the Jossa across country about 100m next to the original path!! The Spessart trail "Merneser Jossatal" led us through one of the most beautiful Spessart valleys, where the Jossa river meanders mostly freely through the landscape in the Bad Soden-Salmünster area. I started this Spessartstspur stupidly. Instead of following the beautiful path to a barefoot path, I walked the paved path into the field. So be it, were only about 200 meters. A creek occupied by the beaver forms the beautiful accompaniment through the open field before you have to take the only slightly longer climb of the tour, which of course rewards with a great view. After some time along the edge of the forest with various beautiful impressions (primarily 🐮🐮😍😍) comes the only forest passage that I really enjoyed. Simply great, even if it doesn't look like a healthy forest here either. Towards the end it goes uphill again to see Mernes from above, before a small and very idyllic path leads back to the starting point. Like almost everything Spessartspuren I liked this one very much. I can recommend without hesitation :-)
To round off the day, we recommend a quick visit to the Schafhof Kaffee in Burg Joß. It's just 4km away by car.
