Wächtersbach Castle Forest Trail with a food break

The latest Spessart track (discovered in Kinzig News) is a really successful highlight, especially for hot summer days like today Mainly with winding forest paths in the shade of the trees, and at the beginning at the castle 🏰 and along the stream🏞️ with beautiful old walls 🏚️. Very varied, and with a length that calls for repetition🤩 There is a deduction in the B-Note for the attached overview plan, which is hidden on the back wall at the exit of the parking lot. We ended up in Toni's Pizzeria 🍕 & enjoyed a delicious ice cream from the local ice cream parlor 👍😋

I'm currently limited in my mobility due to a leg vein infection. To prevent anything worse, it should definitely be a short hike today. Exercise is very important in such situations. The 7.5 km came at just the right time. I didn't see an "official" starting point, meaning no information board or anything like that. The GPX file I used on Komoot for the hike was faulty. It's a good thing the on-site signage for the tour was good today. It's a beautiful loop, somehow different, not so "typical Spessart" in terms of the landscape. I actually went to Wächtersbach Castle for the first time today. It was definitely worth it.

Yes, yes, very nice new Spessart track 🤗. Fantastic start in the castle park and along the beautiful stream through the flat forest. After that, after a short ascent, a functioning and very nice off-grid section follows quickly before it goes uphill for a little longer. You then go through more or less open forest to above Wächtersbach, with a magnificent view of Neudorf and Aufenau. After a few meters at the upper limit of Wächtersbach, it goes again into the beautiful forest above the castle park. I dare to doubt whether I always ran correctly until the end 🤭. Somehow the signage was a bit confusing and the GPX file wanted to go off-grid again, but I couldn't find a way 😅. So be it, I liked the track very much 👍🏻.

Part 8 of my motivational task 😄 Today we went to Wächtersbach for the Schlosswald round. A fairly short tour with its 7 km, but very pleasant to walk and nice and shady for the summer 🌳😊🌲 Progress was slow today - yesterday's chemotherapy is still in my bones. But it should also be a walk and not a marathon 😉 The pond is currently being renovated - that's why you first find a large construction site. In the castle there is a restaurant with outdoor dining. The path is wonderful - along the stream and through the Wächtersbacher forest. The incline is hardly worth mentioning - finally arrived at the top without panting 🙈😅 Conclusion: A nice short walk for a walk 🐕, followed by a visit to the ice cream parlor will be repeated 😋

Today we took the train to Wächtersbach to walk the Schlosswald trail there.

Unfortunately it rained today 🌧, so no 🌄 picture 😔, but a hiker does not know bad weather 🤪 Today's track was very nice to walk, always changing between wide paths and small paths, all of which were beautifully covered with autumn leaves today. Tour description: Through the castle park it goes to the castle, which houses the Wächtersbach town hall. Then the almost 7 kilometers long Spessart trail leads through the "Teufelsgraben" up into the forest and reaches the Hammerwiese via some narrow paths. Via the Brachttal near Hesseldorf it goes back on narrow, curved paths to the starting point.
