Noyon to Compiègne – Oise Gravel Tour

Gravel riding

This stage of the Oise Gravel Tour can be completed independently in one day. From Noyon station, take the time to stroll between the Notre-Dame cathedral and the Jean Calvin museum, before following the Canal du Nord to the peaceful port of Pont-l’Évêque.

You then reach the Ourscamp-Carlepont forest, a vast oak forest crossed by smooth tracks. On the edge, the remains of the Ourscamp abbey, a 12th-century jewel, emerge. The route heads towards Carlepont, then the Touvent plateau, marked by the First World War: the Tracy-le-Mont necropolis keeps its memory alive.

The Laigue forest, then that of Compiègne, offer long peaceful stretches. In Longueil-Annel, the Cité des Bateliers museum recalls the river life of the Oise. Further on, make way for emotion with the Armistice clearing of 1918, before getting as close as possible to the Beaux Monts viewpoint, with its superb view of the Château de Compiègne.

The stage ends with a gentle descent towards the town and its SNCF station, the final point of this journey steeped in history.
