Since you'll occasionally hike over narrow, densely overgrown trails, either long hiking pants or good tick protection are a good idea. A cap or hat is also recommended in high temperatures to reduce the risk of sunburn on your scalp, as some sections are unprotected by trees ☺️.

The GPS data is no longer correct. In Usingen the route is now BEFORE the railway underpass to the right. Not only after that, there you end up in a dead end, it is now a new development area. Immediately afterwards the path was VERY muddy due to forest work.
But then we were amply compensated by the beautiful landscape!
