This route was planned by komoot.
The ascent to Monte Scorluzzo, with which you can climb a 3000m peak comparatively easily, was particularly strenuous. The descent to the Filone dei Mot is secured with a wire rope and is a bit tricky for the untrained, but doable. The information on the Ortles front and the ruins of the positions give a very impressive and highly interesting insight into the time of the First World War. After the descent, the path through the Piano di Scorluzzo was barely recognizable but beautiful. Here Gps with Komoot was really needed and helpful! After the Laghetti di Scorluzzo, the path became recognizable again. The ascent to the Stilfser Joch went a bit on the state road, but this is easily doable. Thanks to @Kauai for this brilliant tour tip!
It's also referred to as the "War on the Ice." Avalanches, cold, and glaciers often claimed more victims than the actual fighting. Today's weather somehow perfectly matched the atmosphere. It was cold, windy, and quite cloudy.
